Streaming Video (& Media) – There's streaming audio and streaming video (and to a lesser extent - streaming text, and animation.) With streaming video, a file of the video is compressed and sent over the Internet. It's then decompressed by the receiver's software for displaying. Typically the file begins displaying before it has entirely arrived (to save transmission time and bandwidth.)
