Narrowband - (1) A data transmission system with a small bandwidth and thus can carry only limited amounts of information. Traditional copper telephone lines (POTS) with standard switching devices and other telephone hardware, are often narrowband. VBI transmission is often narrowband. (2) A  transmission medium or channel with a single voice channel.
