MediaOne Streamcast Application for News On Demand -  MediaOne was a high-speed data network who's competition included @Home, and RoadRunner. MediaOne was the broadband services unit of Denver-based US West Media Group (US West is now QWEST.)
    In 1997 MediaOne's Streamcast news on Demand service allowed viewers to see encoded news clips on their personal computers. Their plan was to make these clips available to Internet-enabled television sets and Internet set-top boxes down the road.
