Interactive request-for-information Ads
(iRFI) - This interactive TV service lets viewers click
their control
devices (or use IVR)
to get more
information, product samples, etc. during a TV advertisement.
In one scenario, an interactive request-for-information ad is presented thanks to a viewer's call to action. An on-screen overlay containing the interactive-enabled ad(s) appears, whereupon the standard programming is "squeezed back" (pushed back) to the upper right or left-hand corner. EBIF is the technology Canoe (CableLabs) uses for the basis of at least one type of its interactive request for information (iRFI) advertising service. Cablevision Systems' Optimum Select service for example, offers/offered iRFIs.
