Digital Entertainment - (A unit of
Bandai Co. Ltd of
Japan) - The manufacturer and marketer of the Set-top Box Pippin@World
that included a CD player and was originally developed by Apple. They
later
equipped these units for Ethernet networking. Bandai liquidated their
assets
in early 1998, after selling just 30,000 machines in Japan and 12,000
in
the US. Bandai Digital Entertainment said they would dispose
of their
existing inventories of 50,000 units.
