(Acorn Online Media Set
Top Box) - A pioneering
British company that developed one of the first set-top
boxes.
Acorn
was an OEM that provided set-top boxes for other companies who would in
turn market them.
They
all used the same CPU, the ARM 7500 RISC. A more advanced
"Strong
ARM" CPU was also built.
